• Vidaai

It is an overwhelming and touching ceremony where a bride has to leave her parents home with heavy heart and teary eyes to begin a new phase of life with his beloved groom. After the completion of all the wedding rituals, brides bids goodbye to her parents, relatives and friends. She throws a handful of puffed rice before her without turning back to wish for house prosperity and wealth to remain intact.

• Paani bharna

The ritual of paani bharna literally means welcoming of newlywed bride along with her groom. The mother of the groom applies mustard oil on both sides of the entrance door and welcomed her with traditional aarti and pitcher filled with water. After every circle, mother in law attempts to take a sip of water, but brides stop her mother in law from doing so but on the seventh circle, she approves and let her drink. She then entered the home by gently kicking the rice pot with right feet.

• Muh dikhai

In Muh dikhai ki rasam, the mother in law gives her daughter in law jewelleries, sarees, and other essentials as gifts. The relatives of the groom lift the veil (ghunghat) of the bride and shower her with gifts and blessing. It is a ritual where the bride gets a chance to interact with everyone and get familiar.

• Reception

The family of groom throws a lavish reception in an honor of newlywed which is an occasion of immense fun and expressing happiness by dancing.

• Pag Phere

After all the post-wedding rituals which take place at groom’s home, it is the last ritual post-wedding that takes place at bride’s home where brides returns to her parents house. The son in law and daughter is welcomed by parents and they have a lunch together which marks the end of wedding celebrations.
