Chhath Puja is a kind of social gathering which is celebrated with the whole community, unlike Diwali and Holi which is celebrated by family and friends. People offer prayers to the almighty Lord Sun to endorse well-being, prosperity, and progress for the near and dear ones. In Hinduism, worshipping of the sun is supposed to cure a variety of diseases, including leprosy, besides ensuring the longevity and prosperity of family members, friends, and relatives.
